Why Dreams?

Why chose to do a project on personal dreams you may ask? But what isn't there to be fascinated about by the unusual creativity of the unconscious mind? The thoughts and stories that we are capable of creating in the short amount of time of our lightest sleep go to waste so very often. Without being able to generate something visual to share the story with others, a dream is just wasted. Explaining a dream in words is extremely difficult, yet explaining them with visuals not only better portrays the dream, but also generates wonderfully creative visions. The saying 'a picture is worth a thousand words' is very true in this case.

My personal dreams have always intrigued me. Basically I have weird dreams, and I just have a weird creative mind.  The bizarre combination of unexplainably chosen 'characters' and disorientated events and locations create question, at times for my own sanity. I frantically research the meanings the next morning on the internet in attempt to figure out my subconscious emotions and underlying thoughts, yet I am often left with nothing but confusion or ridiculous conclusions.

In order to make the most of this creativity, I have decided to document the dreams, then chose the dreams with most creative potential, then share with everyone else and await public interpretation. In my proposal, I also chose to ask friends for help with providing their unusual dream experiences

My aim for this project is to allow the viewer to appreciate a physical creation of the weirdest extracts of my mind and dreams. Without this being too scary, I will be presenting the dreams/nightmares in a lighter yet eerie light.
